UAP Hearing at the French National Assembly: A Historic Step Forward, but Scientific Rigor Must Prevail
Paris, June 28, 2026 — Ahead of the June 29 public hearing at the French National Assembly on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), the International Raelian Movement welcomes this historic step toward greater transparency and congratulates the two Members of Parliament behind this courageous initiative.
“Following similar efforts already underway in the United States, this opening is essential. However, no genuine scientific investigation can be considered complete without examining France’s most famous and well-documented UAP encounter: Rael’s 1973 meeting at Puy de Lassolas,” said Daniel Turcotte, Executive Director of the Embassy for Extraterrestrials Project.
“Ignoring such a significant case runs counter to the very principles of scientific rigor. A serious investigation requires that all available evidence be examined without prejudice,” he added.
Beyond the mere observation of unidentified objects, one fundamental question remains: Why are they visiting us? An advanced civilization would not traverse space without purpose. “Rael’s testimony is unique in that it presents a clear message: to help humanity evolve and to request the construction of an official Embassy where public contact can take place,” explained Daniel Turcotte.
An international online conference will be held on July 11 to present the Embassy project and provide concrete answers to these questions.
The Raelian Movement calls on the policymakers, scientists, and experts participating in the June 29 hearing to approach the subject with complete openness. “Investigating UAP to their fullest extent also means examining their message,” Daniel Turcotte concluded.
