The International Raelian Movement marks Swastika Rehabilitation Day with a Global Call for Awareness and Understanding
Montreal, Quebec, June 28, 2025 — On the occasion of International Swastika Rehabilitation Day, observed annually on the last Saturday of June, the International Raelian Movement, in collaboration with the ProSwastika Alliance, invites the media and the general public to rediscover the true origins and universal meaning of one of humanity’s most ancient symbols: the swastika.
“For over a decade, our movement has been actively working to restore public understanding of the swastika’s true origin and its profound spiritual and scientific significance,” explained Martin Hétu, international coordinator of the event.
Revered across many culture, including those of Asia, the Middle East, and Indigenous traditions around the globe, the swastika symbolizes peace, balance, well-being, and the eternal cycles of life. Yet it remains controversial, especially in the Western world, where its historical meaning is often overshadowed by its appropriation by the Nazi regime.
According to Raelian teachings, the swastika predates all human religions and is part of the emblem of the Elohim—an advanced extraterrestrial civilization of scientists and artists who came to Earth 25,000 years ago to scientifically create all forms of life, as allegorically described in the Book of Genesis and many other sacred and ancient texts.
Originally, the emblem of the Elohim combined the swastika and the Star of David to form what is known as the Symbol of Infinity, as found in full on the Tibetan Book of the Dead (Bardo Thodol). “The Star of David represents infinity in space. The Elohim have shown that the infinitely small and the infinitely large share the same structure,” Hétu continued. “At the subatomic scale, the matter that composes us contains universes of particles arranged like solar systems—just as the galaxies around us form part of a particle within an infinitely large being. The swastika, meanwhile, represents infinity in time and the eternal cycle of matter’s transformation.”
This union of symbols reflects a vision of the universe that was far ahead of its time. “Unimaginable without modern science, the Elohim’s emblem reflects a level of wisdom and knowledge that surpasses our current understanding, and serves as a reminder of our forgotten connection with our creators,” Hétu added.
The Elohim love us and are watching over us. Their appearances around the world are increasing, preparing us for eventual contact. In Raelian writings, the Elohim announce their return by the year 2035. “Recognizing the swastika and the Symbol of Infinity as ultimate emblems of peace and unity among all peoples is a key condition for their return,” Hétu concluded.
On June 28, 2025, Raelians and supporters on every continent will celebrate International Swastika Rehabilitation Day. The event is an open invitation to (re)discover the origins and universal message of this ancient symbol—and to reflect on the signs of an imminent contact.
